On retirement from the Directorship
of the International Centre of Brewing and Distilling at Heriot-Watt
University I retained my considerable interest in the alcohol industry,
including my earlier specialisations in biochemisty, yeast, high
gravity brewing/distilling and all aspects of the brewing and distilling
process.
Education and research are keys to
developing and maintaining high standards in the alcohol
industry and, as with all areas of life, do not stand still.
Worldwide competition drives us all to strive harder to ever
higher goals to improve our products and processes, conserve energy, minimise
pollution and maintain profits.
I remain deeply involved in
education, publication and the health, standardisation and world
view of the alcohol industry. |
